Programme: Service Transition & Transformation

Year: 2022
Responsible for the delivery of four security workstreams as part of a wider service transition programme. Projects included - Identity Management, Vulnerability Management, Anti-Malware and Policies & Compliance.

Each project was delivered ahead of the original baseline plan and to budget.

Leading a team of 16 specialists through formal knowledge transfer, mirroring, reverse-mirroring and independent run.

Design of the programme’s key governance processes such as KT reviews and quality gates.

Programme: New Consumer Credit Platform

Management of a software design team for a new consumer credit platform, working in a unique commercial environment where customisations on 'commercial of the shelf software' (COTS) would be re-integrated back into the suppliers core product.

Management of a large Business Analysis and Architecture Team (Peak 35 FTE).

Responsible for planning, reporting, resourcing, quality and risks & issues.

Delivery of 60 pieces of formal design collateral while continiously operating on programme's critical path.

Negotiation with supplier on coding standards, code branching, inspections and co-location.

Managing interlock with dependent teams such as - Build, Test and Cutover.

Managing prioritisation between - core design work, design defects, build queries and defect management.

Programme: Core Bank Separation Programme

Responsible for planning a data centre migration as part of a wider core bank separation programme. Accountable for the development and alignment of infrastructure, networking, application and testing plans.

Creation of an innovative planning framework where workstream plans were integrated and rolled-up into a single integrated programme plan, knitted together using managed dependencies.

Chairing of weekly planning meeting to monitor and report on programme schedule. Presenting plan developments to programme directorship and programme assurance and audit teams.

Preparation of critical path analysis, ‘what if’ scenarios and other supporting planning collateral such as POAPs.

Development of common standards and automated plan quality checks.

Close interlock into every worksteam and deep integration into programme goverance processes such as RAID.

Planning deliverables were completed ontime, achieving £10m in commercial payment milestones.
Role: Test Manger & Team Leader
Programme: Savings Product Development Centre
Industry: Banking & Financial Services
Year: 2014
Working as a Test Manager and Team Leader as part of a Managed Test Service delivered to a leading building society. Responsible for starting up the service, performing KT, followed by steady state delivery.
Management of 25 individuals, both offshore and onshore.

Responsible for Knowledge Transfer with the previous incumbent followed by ongoing maturing of the services capability over several projects.

Resource forecasting, including the phased off-boarding of daily rate contractors.

Programme: Mobile Devices (TB Testing in Cattle Stock)
Industry: Public Sector
Year: 2013

Responsible for the delivery of a white paper on the use of rugged mobile devices to support TB testing in cattle stock across Wales.

Research of existing industry solutions including Ingress Protection standards (IPX), rugged mobile platforms, wearables and data interfaces.

Interviewing veterinarian staff, documenting as-is processes and key requirements.
-
Visting Welsh farms to photograph and experience the testing process live.
-
Preparation of a white paper with a summary of process requirements, high level solution options, integration options, high level business case, feedback etc.
-
The project was completed on budget and on time.
