Give Back
Early and throughout my career I have benefitted from the support of others. It has inspired me to participate in many mentorship, charity and give-back schemes over the years. There are three main areas that I am currently involved in.

Professional Registration Advisor & Assessor
The Institute of Engineering and Technology

Over the last five years I have worked with the ‘Institute of Engineering and Technology’ as a Professional Registration Advisor (PRA). The role involves mentoring and coaching prospective candidates who wish to become Chartered Engineers. I support applicants in the initial preparation, followed by the written and interview stages. Additionally, I lift up unsuccessful candidates and support them in further professional development, or in the appeals process. During peak times, I also assist in registration reviews for technician level applicants.
Embrace Mentorship Scheme
Microsoft

The Microsoft Embrace mentorship scheme works with undergraduates from BAME (Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic) communities during the second year of their degree. Over a five-week period, I work with my mentees to give them guidance on topics such as: interviewing, CV preparation, LinkedIn, career development and professional networking. I find the mentoring process mutually beneficial as I get insight into the thought processes and approaches being taken by the next generation. I have been involved in this scheme for the last two years.
